Welcome to the world, babies

Posted on March 13th, 2012

In the time-honored tradition of comparing books to human babies, I’m thrilled to announce the arrival of two newborns into my life.

First, my new novel, SEA CREATURES, set in South Florida during the summer of 1992, about a woman who ultimately must face the unthinkable choice between her husband and young son, sold to HarperCollins last month! It’s due out in the summer of 2013. I’m so happy to continue working with my terrific editor and the entire Harper team.

Second, my family welcomed a [human] baby boy to the family on March 2. He sleeps a lot. We’re learning more about him every day.

  1. Congratulations on both counts!!! I am particularly enamored with your son but also waiting most impatiently for your second novel. I still tell all of my friends with any taste in books whatsoever that they must read Stiltsville. Best of luck with that adorable baby.

  2. Congrats on your new son.

Unfortunately the gestation time for your new book is taking a lot longer than the baby did…lol. I’ll be happy when it gets here cause I really enjoyed Stiltsville!

  3. Just finished reading Stiltsville and am so happy that you have another novel to be published. You have a captivating style that makes me feel as if I’m experiencing another life rather than just reading a story. That is a true gift. I’m looking forward to Sea Creatures.
